The Sculpture models ( this watch in stainless steel) are sometimes called the &ldquo-Russian watch&rdquo-, because the Ref. 5091 was launched in 1999 to celebrate the return of the brand to Russia. Limited to 300 examples for each of nine versions, for a total planned run of 2700 pieces. During the 19th century, Russia&rsquo-s nobility and intellectuals were important Patek Philippe customers, but Patek Philippe&rsquo-s presence in that country came to an abrupt end during the Soviet era. In 1997, a chain of high-end boutiques was launched in Moscow and St. Petersburg by a new company called Mercury, which became the official distributor of Patek Philippe watches in Russia. The Sculpture, with its special Russian Imperial blue crown, was created for them. The design of the case was a dynamic update of the classic Nautilus wristwatch, streamlined and refined. Self-winding, date, hours, minutes, center seconds. Dial: White, with black and luminous Arabic hours, outer minutes/seconds track, aperture for the date. Case: stainless steel.
