The PAM 00306, introduced at Basel World 2008 is a dual time watch, which has hour, minute and a second time zone hand on the main dial. It has a day-night indicator in a sub-dial at 3 o'clock and a seconds hand on a second sub-dial at the 9 o'clock position. This is a large watch with a 47mm diameter case. The case is rated as water resistant to 100m.
The Luminor 1950 Titanium Tourbillon GMT is equipped with the Calibre P.2005, a movement with a tourbillon escapement. The Panerai tourbillon cage rotates on an axis at right angles to the axis of the balance wheel and makes two rotations per minute. This rotation, is twice as fast as the usual.
The PAM 00306 comes with a clear case back so that you can watch the fascinating motion of the tourbillon, while on the dial side there is a little ecru indicator within the seconds counter at 9 o&rsquo-clock, which travels twice as quickly as the seconds hand, making one rotation every 30 seconds, because it moves at the speed of the tourbillon cage.
Calibre P.2005. The watch movement is a manual winding movement with a 6 day power reserve. Long power reserves on manual wound watches appears to be a Panerai specialty. The movement produces 28,800 vibration per hour (4Hz). The Calibre P.2005 is one of Panerai's in-house or manifattura movements.
